FATE: THE WINX SAGA - Drama Review

The long-running Italian cartoon about a group of best-friend fairies, Winx Club, is one of the few explicitly girl-focused shows to make the transition to a darker, edgier live-action. Fate: The Winx Saga by Netflix casts the same spell on the bright, visually vibrant cartoon that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Riverdale did on their family-friendly Archie Comics counterparts. It has a surprisingly nuanced plot that delves into the consequences of war across generations — but it comes at a cost, both for the characters and for that familiar sense of friendship and mutual support. In the first episode, we see Bloom (Abigail Cowen) moving into Alfea, a boarding school for fairies and specialists (male fairies) in the Otherworld. The first person she speaks with is a specialist named Sky (Danny Griffin), who discovers that Bloom is from the "realm" of California and that she had no idea she was a fairy three months ago. She meets her roommates, including Stella (Hannah

FORECASTING LOVE AND WEATHER (2022) - Drama Review

Forecasting love and weather 2022 Poster
Forecasting Love and Weather 2022  is one of the famous South Korean dramas directed by Cha Young Hoon and written by Kang Eun Kyung and Sun Young. Romance, Melodrama, and Drama are some of the genres represented in this drama series.

Forecasting weather might be an easy task but what about love? Love is a ride full of blazing suns and thunderstorms. Moreover love is a ride of unpredictability and here two people have the job to predict the weather daily.

PLOT:

The story revolves around the offices of the Korean Meteorological Organization. Jin Ha Kyung has a stable job as a General Forecaster with a perfectly balanced personal and professional life along with a supportive mother and a loving sister. She has a boyfriend, Han Ki Joon, whom she hopes to marry, but now that she is on the path of love, she is forced to see a terrible pandemic with no help from her friends, since she chose to be an outsider to live a safe living. Lee Shi Woo, on the other hand, as Head of the Special Reporting Division, is a sloppy and thoughtless man with an exceptional approach and determination pouring through his veins. He has an impressive IQ and likes challenges. His first love is the weather but things change when Jin Ha Kyung enters his life. Han Ki Joon is a model person with a tongue that can persuade anyone and hence is successful every time but this has also made it hard to deal with failures. Chae Yoo Jin works for a daily newspaper as a weather reporter. Though initially disappointed with the job, she grows fond of it. And now, the lives of the four people entangle most sweetly, the way of love.

CAST AND ACTING:

FORECASTING LOVE AND WEATHER (2022) Cast
Park Min Kyung (Jin Ka Hyung) proved to be a fantastic performer, expertly portraying her character even in the most upsetting scenes in the screenplay. Song Kang (Lee Shi Woo) also did a great job in delivering his role even if his character was way too demanding and required a perfectionist. Yoon Park (Han Ki Joon) succeeded in capturing my heart even though his role was shitty and Yura (Chae Yoo Jin) in my opinion perfectly complemented Yoon Park. To summarize, the drama had a fantastic cast, but they were occasionally let down by the writing, not because of their conduct.

REVIEW:

To begin with, the drama had an overly dramatic storyline. First Han Ki Joon cheats on Kin Ka Hyung and then marries Chae Yoo Jin who cheats on Lee Shi Woo and they both are happily married. Meanwhile, Lee Shi Woo and Jin Ka Hyung have to face the worst of the worst pain, the pain of betrayal. I really expected there to be “falling in love moments” but the drama was only good for constant conflicts and misunderstandings between Lee Shi Kyung and Jin Ka Hyung, who eventually reconciled. The play effectively depicted poisonous office gossip and the ease with which a female might be abused, and tarnish her reputation, making me wonder if the Koreans have no respect for females at all. The drama had a realistic theme and a promising start but I was disappointed maybe because of it being “the most anticipated drama of 2022”. It had realistic problems and challenges but the massive amount of side storylines and zero development in the lead’s relationship impacted it. It was way too slow-paced and disappointing at moments. The only thing admirable was its remarkable cast and dialogues, how the writers kept on relating weather with human emotions. If you are interested in depressing relationships, this might be a must-watch for you but don’t watch it if you want an office romance and to be honest it was nowhere romantic.
