FATE: THE WINX SAGA - Drama Review

The long-running Italian cartoon about a group of best-friend fairies, Winx Club, is one of the few explicitly girl-focused shows to make the transition to a darker, edgier live-action. Fate: The Winx Saga by Netflix casts the same spell on the bright, visually vibrant cartoon that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Riverdale did on their family-friendly Archie Comics counterparts. It has a surprisingly nuanced plot that delves into the consequences of war across generations — but it comes at a cost, both for the characters and for that familiar sense of friendship and mutual support. In the first episode, we see Bloom (Abigail Cowen) moving into Alfea, a boarding school for fairies and specialists (male fairies) in the Otherworld. The first person she speaks with is a specialist named Sky (Danny Griffin), who discovers that Bloom is from the "realm" of California and that she had no idea she was a fairy three months ago. She meets her roommates, including Stella (Hannah

TOMORROW (2022) - Drama Review

Tomorrow 2022 Poster

Tomorrow 2022  is one of the famous South Korean dramas directed by Kin Tae Yoon and Sung Chi Wook and written by Park Ran, Park Ja Kyung, and Kim Yu Jin. Action, Thriller, Drama, and Fantasy are some of the genres represented in this drama series. Tomorrow 2022 managed to grab a vast audience in such a small time. Here is a review of this extremely popular K-drama.

PLOT:

The story revolves around Choi Jun Woong, a young man in desperate need of a job who failed miserably in fulfilling this need. Suffering an accident, he falls into a state of unconsciousness – a coma. In this state, he managed to get what he wanted, a job. Now the problem is that he is recruited by a team of Grim Reapers, Koo Ryeon, and Lim Reung Gu, in fact, they are the crisis management team who prevent people from committing suicide. Choi Jun Woong has six months to spend on the team and if he works diligently and becomes successful, he will wake up from the coma. Thus begins a tale of fantasy that highlights the daily life of the epitome of complexity this mortal called Homo sapiens has become.

CAST AND ACTING:

Tomorrow 2022 Cast
The drama had a great cast overall who did splendid work. Rowoon (Choi Joon Woong) had a really expressive face throughout the series and I would forever admire him for that as usually, fantasy dramas fail in the acting if not poor direction or script. Kim Hee Sun (Koo Ryeon) had me awestruck by her mesmerizing looks to god-like beauty. Lee Soo Hyuk (Park Joong Gil) was also an important addition not because of being a Greek God but because of his splendid role. Yun Ji On (Lim Reung Gu) did the job much better than anyone else and if it would have been up to me, I would have given him the role of Choi Joon Woong instead of Rowoon in a sense switched their roles but Rowoon also did a great job so I guess the casting was good.

REVIEW:

The drama had a promising storyline and highlighted the important and growing issues of depression, misunderstandings, and suicides splendidly. The drama not only highlights important issues but gives off a glimmer of hope to those suffering from them. The writers had written a great script giving such important issues a touch of fantasy rather than a normal cheesy romance and the directors did a great job in succeeding the writers. The drama had perfect costumes and crops, not to mention the eye candy cinematography though I would have preferred if the realm of grim reapers and the heaven and hell did not look exactly like the mortal world called Earth but I am also glad they did not show some angels with wings or castles in the sky to indicate a fantasy world. The cast of the drama was honestly mesmerizing and overall the drama did a great job of portraying the reality in such a light-hearted way. What I admired was not that like usual the male lead would return to his normal life but instead, Choi Jun Woong helped the depressed and encouraged them against committing suicide even when he woke up from his coma as a normal human. The only drawback is the last words to Choi Jun Woong when he wakes up from his coma, “I would meet you in forty-nine years and two days”, what’s with the cliffhanger? Can’t they just tell me is there going to be a sequel to it?
